ALAN LEFTRIDGE

Interpretive Writer and Consultant

Alan holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, specializing in science education from Kansas State University. He began his academic career at Central Missouri State earning a B.S. in biology, then a teaching credential at the University of Montana, and on to Kansas State. He started his teaching career at West Yellowstone High School, and followed with 30 years teaching natural and cultural heritage interpretation, environmental science, and science courses at Humboldt State University, and Miami University.

He is the past executive editor of the Interpreter magazine and Legacy magazine of the National Association for Interpretation.  He has written 10 books related to natural and cultural heritage, and the art of interpretive writing. Alan's home is south of Glacier National Park in the Swan Valley of Montana.
